Welcome to our website where we provide the details of the bed and breakfast and holiday cottage accommodation Jasmine Cottage. Jasmine Cottage is situated in the beautiful village of Upwey on the outskirts of Weymouth in Dorset.

With quiet country walks nearby, the village of Upwey is full of character. The River Wey flows through the village and its source, known as the the wishing well, has attracted visitors since the 1790s when Weymouth became a fashionable resort. In the 18th century a water mill was built on the river which was rebuilt in 1802; the water mill featured in Thomas Hardy's The Trumpet Major. The thirteenth century church of St. Laurence is at one end of the village. Here you can see the "lepers squint" which was a small opening in the church wall allowing outcasts to follow the mass. Upwey also has a manor house, Upwey Manor, which was owned by the Gould family. Upwey has an excellent restaurant and two public houses serving good quality food and they are all within staggering distance.

The nearest town of Weymouth, with its award winning sandy beach and historic harbour is only three miles away. The beach is overlooked by a magnificent Georgian seafront and is located at the heart of the Jurassic Coast. The Roman market town of Dorchester is also situated just over three miles to the North.

Jasmine Cottage, a period cottage is made from Upwey stone and was built in the 1800s. Sympathetically modernised, it has been in our family since 1947.

Bed and Breakfast

Ground floor: Hallway with stairs and door on the right leading to the comfortable guest lounge. The guest lounge has Sky TV and a dining area.

First floor: Two letting bedrooms which are both en-suite double rooms with colour TV/DVD.

Off-road parking available for two cars.

Continental breakfast is provided although cooked breakfasts, evening meals and packed lunches can be provided by arrangement.

The Cottage

The cottage which is next door to the bed and breakfast accommodation is self-contained and full of character.

Ground floor: Lounge with stairs and door leading to the kitchen and door to a small garden. The living area has a TV and video recorder. The fully fitted kitchen contains a hob, oven with integral grill, fridge, kettle and microwave.

First floor: One large bedroom containing one double bed and one single bed. Separate shower room.

We are happy to accept one well-behaved pet. Although the pet must not be left unaccompanied in the cottage. There is off-road parking available for one car.

From £50 for the cottage per night

Cooked breakfasts, evening meals, and packed lunches can be provided by arrangement.
